You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below
Step 1
This first step will look like a stick when you’re done. What you will do is first draw a circle for Lincoln’s head and then add guide lines on the face. Draw a long vertical line for the neck and then draw it straight down to the torso. Add the shoulder lines and then move on to the next step.
Step 2
Now that his face guides and head shape are drawn, you’ll start sketching his eyes, his nose shape and lining, and then the starting lines for his beard. his.
Step 3
In step three you will start shading around the eyes and right if the nose. Once done, you’ll start outlining more of his bushy beard as seen here and add some shadows while you outline his beard. Draw lines for his big ears and then you can move on to the next step.
Step 4
Wow, you are doing a great job so far. All you will have to do here in this fourth step is outline his hairstyle shape. Sketch some details and strokes around the left cheek and then you can move on.
Step 5
Add some shading and detail to his not-so-tidy combed hairstyle, then outline the creases on his forehead for his lines. Do the same outline and shading to add age lines around his eyes, then outline the shape and shade of his lips. See the inside detail of his ears and then start drawing his shirt collar and bow tie.
Step 6
I cleaned up the outlines in this step so you can see how I drew his shirt, vest, and outer jacket. You will finish drawing his neck bow and then continue sketching his jacket and make sure that you add all the creases and folds. Draw a “V” shape for his vest and then start erasing all the guides and shapes you drew in step one. Now you are ready to move on to the next step.
Step 7
After you have dinner, your sketch should look like this. I hope you had fun drafting the sixteenth president of the United States. You have completed this tutorial on “how to draw Abraham Lincoln step by step”.
