You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1:

Let’s start drawing your irises. The iris is very complicated when you start drawing it. We will start with drawing the iris by sketching its petals. The petals of the iris are reduced and are located behind the sepals of the flower. We can draw an iris flower using some wavy shaped curves. The petals have a wavy border. You can use the reference image as a guide for more details. Drawing a flower by overlapping curves with ripple-like edges looks complicated. Then draw a small bud on which a new flower can grow.

Step 2:

In the second step, we will draw the stem of the iris. Iris branches grow straight. We draw the vertical stem of the iris using two parallel lines. At the top, we will draw a bud-like structure from which the flower will emerge. Then we’ll sketch the long and slender leaves that resemble the flower’s sword. We will draw the leaves using curved lines and connect them at the top with a circle. We will draw three leaves of a flower on the right side.

Step 3:

In this 3rd step, we will draw a small bud on the flower stem. The flower buds have a knot-like structure. You can use the reference image as a guide for more clarification.

Step 4:

By repeating step 2, we can draw several leaves on the reverse side of a flower. The leaves are sword-like, slender and erect.

Step 5:

It’s time to color our Iris drawing. The painting looks natural with purple, blue, white, yellow, pink or orange flowers. Add green color to its leaves. I hope that children will find this drawing engaging and engaging.
