You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

This will frame your drawing. Then, outline the irregular circular shape of Jack’s head using overlapping curves. Note the bulge of the brow and the corner of the mouth.

Step 2

Draw short curves over Jack’s mouth. Use curves to mark irregular ovals of his eyes. Use curves to form eyebrows and nose. Cover two small ovals below the nose to indicate the nostrils.

Step 3

Stretch a pair of curves to form Jack’s neck. Use two curves to surround an arrow shape at its bottom and draw two small ovals inside it. Then stretch the curves outward and let them meet in sharp points.

Step 4

Use the curves to outline the opening of the jack’s suit, the triangles of the lapel, the sides of his torso and arms, curled at the elbows. Armbands on the bottom indicate cuffs and hands. Draw a small circle in the middle of the suit to form a button.

Step 5

Sketch Sally’s face. Use curves to draw rounded, pointed shapes of eyes, nose, and overlapping lines of mouth. Stick irregular shapes on each side of the mouth to form lips. Make a small circle to form the pupils of each eye, and use curves for the eyebrows and lashes.

Step 6

Use curves to outline and texture Sally’s hair. Stretch a pair of curves to form the neck and wrap it with a curve. Add this line with short lines, indicating the stitches that hold the ragdoll together.

Step 7

Use Curves to outline Sally’s skirt collar, sleeves, and ribs. Note the wavy lines that indicate the torn edges of the sleeves, and the overlapping stitches at the shoulders.

Step 8

Use the pairs of curves to outline Sally’s arms, hands, and fingers. Band her arms and wrists with curves, and tape these lines with short straight stitches. Use a curve to complete the front of her dress.

Step 9

Draw curves, crisscrossed with stitches, all over Sally’s face, neck, chest, and abdomen.

Step 10

Color your Jack and Sally cartoons.
