Step 1
Sketch the owl. Gently draw a small oval for the head. Continue with an oval shaped mango for the body. Next, draw the vertical and horizontal lines inside the first oval, into 4 sections. Continue with the foot, drawing two small circles. Draw the shape of the wing, and add a branch where the owl is standing. For the tail, make a slightly curved curve behind the tree branch.
Step 2
Sketch the details of the owl. Draw chin, mine, eye. Continue with the curve to shape the body of the owl.
Step 3
Add more details to the beginning of the owl. Sketching the short jagged lines for the structure along the outline of the owl’s stem is a “guide” and drawing two claws for each leg.
Step 4
Draw the hair texture. Draw more short lines throughout the owl’s body, following the guide lines. Add texture by swiping down the pencil quickly, continuously.
Step 5
Continue with the short strokes according to the instructions and the shape of the body. Add a light touch to the areas of the owl that can be shaded.
Step 6
Complete the drawing with the final highlight. Finally color the owl with brown thunder.
