Interesting facts about Snowdrops

Snowdrops are small white flowers that appear in early spring. They are 2 to 12 inches tall and are found in forests, roadsides, streams, and grassy places. They are a small plant about the size of a single stem with two small, spiky leaves. The flower has 6 petals and is white. They hang down the trunk like a bell. Snowdrops grow from bulbs, but bees pollinate them in February and March. The snowdrops will grow when there is still snow on the ground, so when they pop up means spring could be coming soon. Because they appear before the bees return, the plant mainly grows from planting pieces of its tubers.
