Step 1
Alright, let’s start this first step by drawing out the gladiator guides and shapes. Start by drawing a circle for the head and then add guides on the face. You would then add a squared shape to his torso and add chi guides afterwards. Make sure you draw out the foot shapes and the shield line.
Step 2
Now in this second step you will start drawing out the actual shape of the fighter’s body starting with the shoulders and then the skirt like the bottom garment. Once done, you will draw the shape of his arms and legs as well as the shape of the gladiator helmet. Make sure you also add lining to form the foot.
Step 3
Now that you’ve made it to step three, you’re almost done. What you will start with in this step is the outline and detail of the helmet as well as the shape of his eyes. Once you’ve done that task, you can add a neckline and then detail his shoulder plates some more. Then you’ll add a duffle lining to the bottom of his skirt and add laces around the top of his feet for his sandals. Give him some toes and a shield as well as the butt of the sword.
Step 4
This is your final drawing step and what you will do now is add wrinkles and folds to the gladiator clothes as shown. Once you’ve done that, add strokes to the helmet and face as well as the wrist guards. View details of the shin guards and then draw his blade.
