Step 1. Sketch the head
Sketch the shape of the dunkleosteus’s head similar to the illustration.
Step 2. Form bone plates
Form the bony plates on the fish’s head by drawing two curved lines as shown.
Step 3. Draw facial features
Start by drawing a small circle for its eye. Next, add a small dot for its nostrils. Then, draw V-shaped lines to form sharp teeth.
Step 4. Sketch the body
Outline the dunkleosteus’s body by drawing an elongated shape attached to its head.
Step 5. Attach the fins
Now, draw two curved triangles near its body. Next, draw a curved V-shaped line attached to the top of its body. Then, form the tail fin by drawing a shape attached to the end of the body as shown.
Step 6. Complete the Dunkleosteus drawing
Finally, let’s give life to our drawing of an armored prehistoric fish by adding some color! First, fill in its eyes with a black pencil. Next, shade its sharp teeth with a white pencil. Now, color its fins with a dark blue pencil. Then, color the dunkleosteus’s body with a blue pencil.
