You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

Now before we get started, let me start off by telling Thomas that tank engines will be very easy to learn to draw since his shape is basically square. So start by drawing your basic guidelines for sketching the train in sections. There are 5 straight lines going down, a big one going straight down the middle, two on the sides and two smaller ones in the center.

Step 2

Now draw the frame and line of placement all over the front of the ship. Looking straight ahead it would look like the front of a house, seeing two windows, chimney, steps, and we could call the circle in the middle the front door when in reality it would be Thomas facing with tank engine. The chimney is his sauna and the windows are just that, windows. This is a very easy step using pictures as a guide.

Step 3

Now here in this step you will actually draw Thomas’ face and other details visible on his tank. Let’s start by drawing those two small circles in the front corner of the carriage, making a double circle means drawing one circle and then another in the middle. For the face, draw two big round eyes, inverted “V” for the eyebrows and a large “U” for the nose. Next draw Thomas tank training mechanical details along the front.

Step 4

Now, on the last step of drawing, all you have to do is draw in his eyeballs, the lower border of his lips, and the chain link that hangs at the bottom of the train. Once satisfied with your sketch, you can go ahead and erase all the principles that you drew in step 1. You may also want to clean your paper from pencil marks that have been brushed on the paper. .

Step 5

This is your finished product. Thomas the tank will look like this when you’re done. The only thing left to do is color him and have fun by sticking him on the wall or the fridge. Until next time my fellow artist.
