Easy Drawing Guides

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

In the first part of the tutorial on how to draw a radio, we will start with the frame of the radio. This frame will be thick and rectangular in shape. As you can see in our reference image, there will be various gaps left in the border as well as different buttons and other sections will fill them later.

The corners of the radio will be fairly rounded, but for straight edges at the top, bottom, and side edges, you can use a ruler.

Then extend some backyard lines into the image to give the station depth and don’t forget to leave those gaps where they appear in the reference image. When you are satisfied with it, we can move on to step 2!

Step 2 – Next, draw the speaker and dial for the radio

A radio won’t get much use without some speakers on it, so we’ll add these to this step in your station drawing.

Start by drawing two circles on either side of the radio, then surround them with another circle. You can also draw some small, circles on the edges to fill in the gap you left earlier.

Then add a slash pattern inside these circles using some more intersecting lines.

Once you’ve finished these speakers, you can use a ruler to draw a rectangle between them. When we add some more to it later, this will be the cassette slot.

Finally for this step, draw some smaller circles below the speaker for the radio dial.

Step 3 – Draw some details for the front of the radio

In this part of our tutorial on how to draw a radio, we will add some detail to the face of the radio.

First, draw a straight line with the edges curving inward near the top of the face for the radio.

This will form the frequency reader for the radio, and you can end it with some lines inside it as they appear in our reference image.

Then draw two circles with little dots on the inside of the ice door, and that should complete all the steps in this tutorial.

Step 4 – Now, draw some buttons on top of the radio

A typical radio will have various buttons on it to control aspects like playing, pausing, and rewinding the music. These are the buttons that we will add to your radio drawing in this step.

To draw these buttons, we will create four slanted rectangles on top of the tower. Then we’ll stretch some lines down from them to give them a more 3D look.

Once these buttons are drawn, we just have some more details to add in the next step!

Step 5 – Complete your radio drawing

Our step in the radio tutorial will help you add the final details and elements to get you ready for the final step.

First, we will draw the handle for the radio. This will fill in the last space you left in the frame in the first step. You can then use some curves to create a handle on the radio.

We will then wrap up the details in this tutorial by thickening the contours around some of the other details on the face of the radio.

Once you’ve completed all of these details, you can add some of your own too! Maybe you can paint the background to show some objects that you will enjoy while relaxing with this radio.

What accessories, food or drink would you like to add to your favorite classical tunes?

Step 6 – Finish your radio drawing with some colors

For the final part of your radio drawing, you can finish it off with some awesome colors! We chose a nice and bright color scheme for our example image.

We used shades of red for the body of the radio while using some yellow for the buttons. These colors have been contrasted with some gray for the rest of the radio.

These are the colors we’ve chosen, but you should definitely use any other colors you love to create your own perfect, personal radio!

Then you can have a great time as you choose the best art mediums and tools to achieve these colors. We look forward to seeing how you complete this drawing!
