You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

I think drawing Shakespeare would be pretty easy. Start with a circle for his head and top half of his face. Next outline the structure of the face including cheeks, chin and jawline. Finally draw the shoulder lines.

Step 2

You will now sketch the shape of his eyes using the principles you drew in step one as a guide. Notice the curves are for the eyelids, not the eyebrows. Shakespeare has deep niches.

Step 3

Now you will fill in the eye holes by drawing eyeballs. Next outline his nose, and then remember to add lighting. You will also need to draw the mouth line.

Step 4

Here you will start sketching his hair and beard. As you can see his hair thins out at the top of his head, then grows into dust on the sides and flares out at the ends. Outline the shape of his mustache and beard, then draw the contours of his lips. When painting facial hair and such, make sure the lining looks sketchy.

Step 5

Color his eyes, outline his right ear and earring, then outline the coat he’s wearing that seems very thick. You will also need to outline the collar of the jacket as you see here. Be focused and take the time to make sure your Bard drawing is done patiently.

Step 6

For your final drawing you will need to add texture by shading parts of his face like his eyes, cheeks and the side of his nose, and then you will also need to shade on his hair and his beard as well as his coat.

Step 7

Here’s what your sketch will look like as soon as you’re done. No need to color as this is just portrait sketch and you have learned how to draw Shakespeare step by step. You will do great!
