Step 1
Start with a circle for the flower shape, then add a smaller shape in the center. You will then draw six lines for each petal.
Step 2
Now sketch all the shapes of each petal you see here, and notice how far the edges are from the line. They should be wavy and full of life.
Step 3
Continue drawing the rest of the petals, and then when you’re done, start outlining the large leaf beds that the flower or bloom appears to rest on. Make sure the leaf edges are serrated and you also add veins for definition and detail. Erase the lines and shapes you drew in step one to clean up the drawing and prepare it for color.
Step 4
Now draw the pistil in the center, and that’s it, you’re done.
Step 5
Here’s how the poinsettia will appear when you’re done. Now all you have to do is color it. Well done!
